The Farmyard
The Farmyard will be our home away from home for the weekend—a private retreat within The Newt, reserved exclusively for our wedding guests. Tucked beyond the cyder orchards, this former dairy farm now offers beautifully designed rooms, a pool, a cozy bar, and an all-day kitchen.
With complimentary drinks at the Garner Bar, bikes and buggies for exploring, and plenty of spaces to gather, it’s the perfect setting for us to connect, celebrate, and soak in the magic of The Newt.
Transportation
By Train
From London: Great Western Rail services from London Paddington direct to Castle Cary Station (1hr 40 min). The hotel concierge team will assist with your transfer between Castle Cary and The Newt.
From Heathrow International Airport: Guests may take the Tube's Elizabeth Line (35 minutes) or the Heathrow Express train service (15 minutes) to London Paddington, then use the above GWR service direct to Castle Cary Station (1hr 40 min)
Don't miss The Creamery at Castle Cary Station, a trackside restaurant and working creamery celebrating the golden age of rail travel in the United Kingdom. Featuring fresh milk from The Newt's herd of water buffalo.
By Car
From London: Follow the M3 westwards, then join the A303 to Wincanton. Now follow the A371, turning right onto the A359. Please follow signs to the estate entrance.
